"They sensed doubt in me," Zeke says nervously. "I was hesitant because of Fern and Gully. They ensured me that they would work with Faith to make sure they are taken care of."

"Yeah," Zeke acknowledges. "She got you to where you are, so she can't be too bad."

As they enter the courtyard, Eisen and Nico are standing beside a standing scroll, inscribed with the oath of initiation.

"To officially join the order, you must recite the oath and add one drop of your blood to this flagon," Eisen says, gesturing to a large container in Nico's hands.

"This flagon contains one drop of blood from every monk that has ever pledged to our order. As long as this blood remains, age will never take your life or your strength."

"While we prefer that those who join us stay amongst us, we do not take this blessing from them," Nico explains. "There are ways to get around this should you choose to succumb to age, but they are few and far between."

"Now if you're ready," Eisen begins. "Repeat after me. I pledge my life... to the Hotai order... My body shall be their sword... and my mind their shield... I pledge to defend this world from darkness... and whatever form it chooses to take... I pledge to keep my soul pure... and my heart true... So that all who know me... will know that the Hotai Monks are benevolent and just."

The others repeat as well, and as they do, Nico comes around, pricking each of their fingers to capture a drop of blood in the flagon.

Once the oath is finished, Nico hands each of the fledgling monks a small goblet containing clear liquid. "Welcome Brother Darius, Brother Ezekiel, and Sister Yezabelle, to the order of the Hotai Monks. I've provided each of you with a goblet of holy water. Drinking this every day will help to strengthen your aptitude with holy magic. Take the rest of the day to yourselves. Physical training will begin with the sun."

The others both drink the water with ease, Zeke giving Darius a concerned look. "That bad?" He asks with a frown.

"We should have a party," Yeza says plainly, moving to stand between the boys.

"Probably not here," she says, a small smile gracing her face. "I doubt people would want to go through monk security."

"We could head up to Tips and Tricks, but I'm not sure who all we could invite on short notice."

"I don't know that anybody on the island cares," Zeke says with a laugh.

"We don't necessarily have to drink, but the location would serve a party well," Yeza adds.

"I believe she is speaking with High-Brother Lazarus," Yeza says, heading toward the door. "I'll meet you two there."

"Sounds good. I'll invite Fern and Gully. Didn't manage to free any others."
